Barwon Water (Barwon Region Water Corporation) is Victoria’s largest regional urban water corporation. Barwon Water have a proud history providing excellence in water, sewerage and recycled water services to customers and the community for more than 110 years.
Barwon Water's region of responsibility stretches over 8,100 square kilometres, from Little River and the Bellarine Peninsula in the east, to Colac in the west, and from Meredith and Cressy in the north, to Apollo Bay on Victoria’s south-west coast. Operating 12 major reservoirs, 8 water treatment plants and 11 wastewater treatment plants, Barwon Water services more than 320,000 permanent residents (161,695 customers) – reaching up to 545,000 people during the peak holiday periods.

Central Highlands Water (CHW) is a regional water corporation providing drinking water, sewerage, trade waste and recycled water services to customers throughout the Central Highlands Region of Victoria.
CHW services 149,842 residents (71,054 customers) across 9,275 square kilometres and manages 15 distinct water supply systems and 13 wastewater systems in the local government areas of Ballarat, Central Goldfields, Golden Plains, Hepburn, Pyrenees, Northern Grampians, Moorabool and Corangamite.

City West Water is one of three metropolitan Melbourne's water corporations providing drinking water, sewerage, trade waste and recycled water services to over 473,000 customers in Melbourne’s central business district, inner and western suburbs.
Local Government Areas serviced by City West Water include: Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Melbourne (north of the Yarra River), Moonee Valley, Wyndham, Yarra and parts of Melton and Hume.

Coliban Water provide water and wastewater services to 76,478 customers in 49 towns across 16,500 square kilometres in North-Central Victoria.
Coliban Water service rural and urban areas from Cohuna and Echuca in the north to Kyneton and Trentham in the south, and also manage, maintain and operate 35 reservoirs and water storage basins.

East Gippsland Water serves 26,450 customers across an area of 21,000 square kilometres in the far south east of Victoria.
East Gippsland Water’s service area extends east from Lindenow, through to the region’s capital Bairnsdale, the holiday hotspots of Paynesville and Lakes Entrance, and on to the Wilderness Coast and Mallacoota near the New South Wales border. It also serves customers as far north as Dinner Plain in the High Country of the Victorian Alps.

Gippsland Water delivers water, wastewater and waste recovery services to domestic and commercial clients across Central Gippsland, from Drouin in the west to Stratford in the east, and from Mirboo North in the south to Rawson and Briagolong in the north.
Gippsland Water supplies fresh clean drinking water to more than 70,000 customers, and wastewater services to more than 63,000 customers across an area of more than 5,000 square kilometres. It maintains a $1 billion infrastructure network, which includes more than 2,000 kilometres of water mains, 15 water treatment plants, over 1,700 kilometres of sewer mains and 14 wastewater treatment plants.

Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is Australia’s largest rural water corporation managing around 70 per cent of Victoria’s stored water resources, around 50 per cent of Victoria’s underground water supplies and Australia’s largest irrigation delivery network.
GMW manages water related services in a region of 68,000 square kilometres, bordered by the Great Dividing Range in the south and the River Murray in the north and stretching from Corryong in the east down river to Nyah.

Goulburn Valley Water provides water and wastewater services to a population of 125,000 (over 60,000 customers) in 54 towns connected to 37 water supply systems and 26 wastewater management facilities. Its region extends from the outskirts of Melbourne in the south to the Murray River in the north, covering approximately 20,000 square kilometres.
With an extensive irrigation district and network of rivers and creeks, Goulburn Valley Water's bulk water supply is principally sourced from the Goulburn, Broken, Murray, Steavenson, Rubicon and Delatite River systems and a number of smaller local streams including Sunday Creek and Seven Creeks.

GWMWater provides water supply, wastewater and water management services for approximately 72,000 people across the Grampians, Wimmera and Mallee regions in rural areas (approximately 11,000 properties) and in 71 urban towns (over 32,000 properties). With one of the largest geographic footprints of all the Victorian water businesses, it services over 60,000 square kilometres extending over 13 municipalities, wholly or in part.
A vertically integrated water business directly involved in all aspects of the water cycle, GWMWater provides water services for homes, businesses, industry, farms, and environmental purposes as well as for recreational and sporting use and community benefit. Its supply is sourced from groundwater, surface water, the Murray River, and the Grampians Headworks Storages via a network of pipelines, headworks channels, water treatment plants, reservoirs and dams. Its wastewater services are provided mainly to the larger towns and involve extensive recycling for watering sporting fields, parks and gardens, vineyards and agriculture.

Lower Murray Water operates along the Murray River, from Kerang to the South Australian border, in the municipalities of Gannawarra, Swan Hill and Mildura.
It provides this region with urban water and sewerage treatment, supply and disposal to its 34,040 customers; river quality water for stock and irrigation; and collection and disposal of subsurface irrigation drainage.

Melbourne Water manages the water supply catchments and provides the bulk drinking water supply, recycled water and the majority of Melbourne's sewerage management at its Eastern Treatment Plant in Carrum and Western Treatment Plant at Werribee. Its customers include the metropolitan retail water companies (City West Water, South East Water and Yarra Valley Water), other water authorities, land developers and businesses that divert river water.
Melbourne Water is also responsible for the management of waterways and major drainage systems for the 1.8 million households across the Port Phillip and Westernport regions. Working closely with 38 local governments, Melbourne Water provides stormwater quality, drainage and flood management services across these systems.

North East Water provides water and sewerage services to an estimated population of 110,000 people (51,923 customers) in 41 localities in north-east Victoria across an area of 20,000 square kilometres. The service delivery area is bound by Corryong, Yarrawonga, Benalla and Dartmouth.
It operates 21 water treatment facilities and 22 wastewater treatment plants that service most towns across the region. Over 179 full time equivalent staff are employed in Wodonga, Wangaratta, Benalla, Yarrawonga, Corryong, Beechworth, Mount Beauty and Myrtleford.

South East Water is a metropolitan retail corporation providing water, sewerage and recycled water services to residential, commercial and industrial customers totalling more than 1.7 million people (778,018 customers) in Melbourne’s south east. Its service region covers 3,640 square kilometres from Port Melbourne to Portsea and some 30 kilometres east of Pakenham.
South East Water manages a water and sewer network made up of:
- more than 24,000 kilometres of pipeline
- 81 water pump stations
- 259 sewage pump stations
- nine recycled water pump stations
- eight water recycling plants
- one stormwater treatment plant.

Southern Rural Water (SRW) is one of two dedicated rural water corporations in Victoria. It operates irrigation districts in Maffra, Bacchus Marsh and Werribee, manages seven major water supply dams, and licenses groundwater users and river diverters across the southern half of Victoria.
With over 10,000 customers and approximately 160 staff based in offices extending from Hamilton to Bairnsdale, SRW supplies water to support agricultural production, electricity generation, country towns and cities, and rural and urban businesses.

South Gippsland Water's region is a popular tourist destination, well known for its coastal resorts, such as Inverloch, Cape Paterson, Venus Bay, Sandy Point and Port Albert. Across 4,000 square kilometres, the region and stretches along the coastline from Cape Paterson in the west to just beyond Port Albert in the east. Its northern boundary extends from Nyora to Devon North.
The corporation services a population of 30,500 (20,692 customers) across 21 localities, and operates 13 reservoirs, 18 water service storages and 11 wastewater treatments.

Wannon Water is Victoria's second largest regional urban water corporation by service area, stretching 23,500 square kilometres from the South Australian border in the west to Lismore in the east, and from Victoria’s south coast to Balmoral in the north.
Operating 19 water treatment plants and 17 wastewater treatment plants, Wannon Water delivers water, sewerage, recycled water and trade waste services to over 100,000 residents and more than 4,000 businesses (43,302 customers). It also supplies non-drinkable water for use on over 1,000 rural properties.

Western Water provides water, recycled water and sewerage services to 172,500 residents and 3,000 businesses (68,031 customers) to the north-west of Melbourne.
Servicing one of the fastest growing regions of Victoria, the Western Water network stretches across 3,000 square kilometres and includes Melton, Diggers Rest, Bulla and Sunbury on the outskirts of Melbourne, as well as Bacchus Marsh, Lancefield, Romsey and towns in the Macedon Ranges.

Yarra Valley Water is the largest of Melbourne’s three retail water corporations, based in Melbourne’s east. It provides drinking water, sewerage, recycled water and trade waste services to more than 1.9 million residents – almost 30 per cent of Victoria’s population – and over 50,000 businesses (821,734 customers) across Melbourne’s northern and eastern suburbs.
Yarra Valley Water's service area covers 4,000 square kilometres with a network consisting of around 20,000 kilometres of water and sewer mains.
